Timeline of the Last 700 Million Years of Earth

This infographic summarizes some of the mayor changes of Earth in the last 700 million years. Earth emerged from a global glaciation with simple microscopic life that rapidly evolved to a diverse and complex life in a warming planet. Animal life started in the oceans with the now extinct Ediacara and later moved to the land areas after the appearance of plants. Only some of the well-knowm groups of life are shown including dinosaurs. The skulls correspond to the five mayor extinction events with the last one responsible for the disappearance of the dinosaurs.
